I heat treat my smallest blades to a slightly harder degree than my daggers and swords as they need to flex less, since they are shorter. I make sgian dhus and sgian achlais (the Scottish sock and armpit knives), and I will incorporate family insignia into these small knives upon request. I also am making pattern welded integral bolstered utility knives with an emphasis on form and utility, these are excellent using knives as well as being very elegant visually.
