My staves are generally fashioned of uprooted striped maple and yellow birch sapling, and occasionally (when a particularly light stick is required) quaking aspen or poplar. My staves are shod with copper or wrought iron in order to inhibit damage from use, they are durable for walking, and intricately carved with anthropomorphic and zoomorphic images, or Celtic and Nordic knotwork. I will also carve inscriptions, in the Roman Alphabet or one of the ancient inscriptive alphabets (refer to the navigation bar for more information).

Striped Maple Viking Staff

this is based on a staff found in an excavation of Viking Dublin, dating from around 800AD.

This is a cudgel, inspired by a character from the Norse myths, Bergelmir was the progenitor of the frost giants after Ymir (the first frost giant) was slain by Odin and his brothers. The name "Bergelmir" is inscribed in nordic runes along the body of the cudgel.

This cudgel is carved out of an uprooted striped maple sapling. and is 26 1/2 inches in length from horn to pomel.

Here is a wolf headed staff, with a knotwork carved haft. this piece went to scotland.

the wolf head is carved out of antler, the staff itself is poplar and it is shod with copper.

for a similar piece I would charge $450 US.
